How to Build a Consistent Reading Habit
Start Small
The biggest mistake people make when trying to read more is setting unrealistic goals. Don't aim for a book a week right away. Start with just 10 pages a day. It sounds small, but 10 pages a day is roughly 12-15 books a year!
Design Your Environment
If your phone is on your nightstand and your book is across the room, the phone will win every time. Keep a book on your nightstand, in your bag, or on the kitchen counter. Make the desired behavior (reading) the path of least resistance.
Ditch Books You Don't Enjoy
Life is too short and there are too many brilliant books to force yourself to finish one you hate. If a book hasn't grabbed you by page 50, give yourself permission to put it down and start something else. Reading should be a joy, not a chore.
Track Your Progress
Whether using an app, a journal, or the built-in tracking features on Riwaya, seeing your progress can be incredibly motivating. It creates a sense of accomplishment and encourages you to keep the streak going.
