David J. Schwartz was an American motivational writer, professor, and personal development expert, born in 1927 and best known for his work on motivation, leadership, and success. He was a professor at Georgia State University in Atlanta and later became president of Creative Educational Services, a consulting firm specializing in leadership development. Schwartz gained worldwide recognition through his bestselling book *The Magic of Thinking Big*, first published in 1959. The book encourages readers to develop ambitious goals, overcome fear and limiting beliefs, cultivate positive thinking, and turn ideas into action. It has sold more than six million copies worldwide and remains one of the influential classics of personal-development literature. Schwartz died in 1987.
