Stephen R. Covey (October 24, 1932 – July 16, 2012) was an American educator, author, and businessman widely regarded as one of the most influential management thinkers of the twentieth century. He earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and a doctorate from Brigham Young University. His landmark book, "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" (1989), has sold more than thirty million copies worldwide and has been named one of the most influential business books of the twentieth century. Covey believed that true success requires aligning one's actions with deeply held values and principles. He founded the Covey Leadership Center, later merged with FranklinQuest to form FranklinCovey Co., a global training organization. His work continues to influence leadership programs, schools, and corporations around the world.
